How Paynary uses Google data

Effective date: July 6, 2026

Why Paynary asks for Google access

Paynary needs read-only Gmail access to scan recent messages selected by the app and identify subscriptions, payments, transfers, and card spending alerts. The result is shown to the signed-in user inside Paynary.

Requested scopes

  • openid, email, and profile: used to sign in and show the connected account.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly: used to read Gmail messages for classification.

Data read from Gmail

  • Sender, subject, snippet, message date, and labels.
  • Message body text needed to determine whether an email is a subscription, card purchase, transfer, service payment, card payment, or unrelated message.
  • Amounts, currencies, merchants, renewal dates, bank names, movement types, and confidence signals extracted from email content.

Data Paynary does not access or do

  • Paynary does not request permission to send email.
  • Paynary does not request permission to delete email.
  • Paynary does not request permission to modify labels, drafts, or messages.
  • Paynary does not sell Google user data.
  • Paynary does not use Google user data for ads, retargeting, or unrelated profiling.

AI processing

Paynary may process email content through Paynary-controlled infrastructure and an AI provider only to classify messages and return structured results to the user. Google user data is not used to train generalized AI models for Paynary.

Limited Use

Paynary's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Disconnecting access

Users can disconnect Gmail in Paynary and revoke access in their Google Account settings at any time. Users can request deletion by following Data deletion instructions.
